Job description: Job Title: Senior Software Engineer – Cloud Solutions (AWS Focus)Location: Austin, TX – hybrid onsite preferredSalary Range: $130,000 – $145,000**No third parties**We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our high-performing team focused on delivering modern, scalable, and secure technology solutions. In this role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize cloud-based applications that support business operations and strategic goals.Key Responsibilities:
- Engineer and implement innovative technical solutions that align with product and business requirements.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to solution planning with a focus on performance, scalability, and modularity.
- Provide visibility into project progress, identify blockers early, and communicate effectively across all levels.
- Evaluate existing applications and services, identifying opportunities for modernization or re-architecture.
- Recommend and implement performance and reliability improvements.
- Proactively resolve technical issues and support deployment and operations post-launch.
- Ensure minimal downtime by addressing bugs and incidents swiftly.
- Create clear technical documentation for systems, codebases, and workflows.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Develop automated tests and conduct manual testing as needed to ensure stability and functionality.
Skills Needed:
- 6-10 years of professional experience in software development or cloud engineering
- Strong knowledge in AWS (Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS)
- Exposure to AI & Machine Learning Tools like AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, Q Developer, Agentic AI solutions
- Experience with RESTful APIs, system integrations, SQL Server, Excel, GitHub, Jira and ETL pipelines
- Deep expertise in building and maintaining AWS-based solutions
- Strong understanding of secure coding and data handling, including working with financial data
- Proven experience in Agile environments with continuous delivery
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience in financial services or insurance industries
- AWS Solutions Architect – Professional certification (strongly preferred)
