Job description: Our Sacramento-based client is seeking a skilled and solutions-driven DevOps Software Engineer to join their dynamic IT team. This pivotal role ensures the reliability, scalability, and security of the organizations software infrastructure, supporting key initiatives across California. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in automation, infrastructure management, continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), and cloud technologies, along with strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams. Additional responsibilities may be assigned to support broader organizational goals. Hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of three days onsite.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Automate build, test, deployment, and monitoring processes to ensure consistent, scalable, and stable application performance across environments.
- Manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, maintain configuration standards, and support frequent, reliable software releases through optimized CI/CD pipelines.
- Troubleshoot performance, deployment, and infrastructure issues, coordinating with development teams to resolve bugs, outages, and bottlenecks.
- Enforce security best practices throughout the development lifecycle, leading implementation, and compliance efforts for deployed applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support planning, integration, and delivery of technology initiatives aligned with organizational strategy.
- Contribute to large-scale engineering efforts including data migration, system integration, and platform improvements, while documenting configurations and decisions for transparency and continuity.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: * Holds a bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience leading DevOps and software development initiatives.
- Demonstrates strong technical expertise in software development, operating systems, networking, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and scripting languages.
- Skilled in CI/CD pipeline management, containerization, deployment workflows, and automation tools such as Ansible, with a solid understanding of DevOps security best practices.
- Effectively manages infrastructure, monitoring systems, and troubleshooting processes in a collaborative, matrixed environment, while balancing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Communicates clearly across technical and non-technical teams, maintains professionalism and confidentiality, and is open to occasional travel across California for trainings and events.
Expected salary: $81000 – 98000 per year
