Job description: Software Engineer – Applied AI / Full-StackLocations: Hybrid – San Francisco, CA (4 days in-person, Fridays remote) | New York, NY (remote until office opens, then 4 days in-person)
Compensation: $200K–$245K + meaningful equityVisa: H1B transfer possible (no lottery submissions)About the RoleJoin a fast-growing, profitable AI-first startup building custom generative AI solutions for enterprise clients. You’ll work across end-to-end product development, shipping AI applications that impact multiple companies and industries. By your second project, you’ll have delivered more LLM applications than most AI engineers experience in a lifetime.This is a high-impact, IC-focused role for senior engineers (10+ years), including former founders or tech leads, who thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and enjoy hands-on coding while influencing product strategy and engineering culture.What You’ll DoDesign, develop, and deploy custom AI solutions for enterprise clients, ensuring scalability and robustness.Lead projects from requirements to deployment, collaborating with customers and internal engineers.Shape engineering practices, culture, and technical strategy from day one.Work across multiple industries and AI use cases: e.g., automating call centers with AI, AI content moderation systems, and more.Contribute to internal tools and frameworks (LangChain, Langsmith, Pinecone, ChromaDB, OpenPipe) while learning rapidly from diverse projects.Ideal CandidateSeniority: 10+ years of experience; previous leadership or staff-level experience preferred.Technical Skills:Strong software engineering proficiency across multiple languages.Experience building highly technical products for engineers.End-to-end ownership (0→1 product development).Soft Skills:Comfortable engaging with clients and understanding their needs.Startup-ready, self-motivated, and thrives in ambiguity.Interest or experience in generative AI.Miscellaneous:IC-focused, hands-on coding in a collaborative environment.Comfortable working 4 days in-office in SF or NYC.Why JoinWork with veteran engineers and former founders delivering real-world AI solutions.Gain exposure to applied generative AI across multiple industries.Be part of a profitable, engineering-first startup with rapid revenue growth and potential exit opportunities.Hands-on experience shaping engineering culture, processes, and technical practices from day one.Tech Stack & ToolsTech stack varies per client; experience with LangChain, Langsmith, Pinecone, ChromaDB, OpenPipe, and LLM applications is a plus.
